I have been wanting to discuss my love for African American Fiction books for the longest. Romance to be exact.
Although for me personally they can be hard to push through sometimes
Due to the un escapable struggle, the suffering :
Men wrongly accused
Slavery
Betrayal
Heartache
Abuse
So on and so forth.
What gets me in the end always:
The community
The love in the lesson
Forgiveness
Growth
Witnessing walls being torn, bridges built, love being learned.
MAGIC and possibilities of love that keeps you coming back for more.
The reason we are all here.
Books I’ve read lately :
Good Dirt – Charmaine Wilkerson
Zeal – Morgan Jerkins
All About Love – Bell Hooks (Nonfiction Honorary Mention)
Before I let Go – Kennedy Ryan
A Love Song for Ricki Wilde – Tia Williams
The Mis-Education of the Negro – Carter Godwin Woodson (Nonfiction Honorary Mention)
An American Marriage – Jones
These books mostly remind me of Beyoncé
“I am in love with you, you set me free. I can’t do this thing called life without you loving me”
Falling in love with reading has also reignited my love of history and politics.
I love all things breathtaking, heart opening, and informative.
